Day 7
After attending church, we drove to 7 Swans Creperie. For the second day in a row, we were dining at a restaurant with a name I did not know existed (my spell checker did this time).
The restaurant is in a quaint building in an older neighborhood

As it turns out this creperie makes some pretty good crepe breakfast plates!

The meals were very tasty and the coffee was very good. It was a busy Sunday morning but we were seated right away and there wasn’t a long wait for the food. We highly recommend this restaurant!
After lunch we rested for a bit then headed out for a beautiful Sunday bike ride along Lake Michigan. The Oak Leaf Trail covers much of the Milwaukee area with over 135 miles of trails. We started on the Lake Line and headed south towards downtown. where we connected with the Hank Aaron State Trail.

Built in 1888, it served the ships on the lake until 1994. It was restored and reopened for tours in 2007. It wasn’t open when we rode by. We’ll put it on our list to visit next time.

We started onto the Hank Aaron trail but soon found it closed pretty far away from downtown. The upcoming RNC convention was scheduled to start on Tuesday so we thought there might be some security. And normally we might have considered ignoring the closed signs and just detour around whatever is in the way but there were armed guards that looked like they were unhappy working on Sunday. As it turned out, there was a massive increase in police presence due to the previous day’s event, so we thought better of it and turned around. The ride back was equally enjoyable. We still managed to get in an 11 mile ride.
Just before we left the trail to head home, we stopped a Moosa’s. Moosa’s is a hamburger and custard stand right along the lake shore. Every time we’d been by, it always looked busy. It was busy today but what the heck, we’re here and we thought we’d check it out.

We headed home, cleaned up and took a quick nap. We decided on Lou Malnati’s carry-out pizza for supper. Lou’s is always a good choice.
Tomorrow we were heading west.
Love Lou’s!!!
The custard stand doesn’t look busy
