Paddle Pedal & Coffee Tour of Wisconsin 2024
Day 2
We woke to beautiful weather on Tuesday. A perfect day to kayak. This morning, Kangaroo Lake was to be our destination. We’d tried to paddle on the lake last year but it was just too windy and rough to enjoy. This day promised to be different.
The lake was smooth, the temperature perfect with almost no wind. We ended up paddling most of the shoreline-just about 5 miles.
We loaded up the boats and headed to breakfast at The Rusty Tractor Breakfast Barn. The Egg Harbor WI restaurant is open seasonally from April to October. Their hours can vary but they’re mostly open for breakfast and lunch.
After an early afternoon break, we headed back to Fish Creek and Peninsula Park for a bike ride. We’ve visited the park on several occasions. There are numerous sites to take in including a Eagle Tower, a light house which was our destination for the afternoon.
We started pedaling on the park roads and had only made it a mile or two in before we had a bicycle seat issue. A trip back to Fish Creek to a bike shop and we were back on the ride. We stopped at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse but it was was undergoing repairs so not much to actually see there.
All told we rode about 12 miles in the park. We loaded up the bikes and headed home to clean up.
Our final stop for the day was for supper was Villagios Steakhouse in Egg Harbor. Mary tried the Lemon Oregano chicken, David had the Chicken Alfredo. Both tasted authentically Italian and were very tasty. A phone call before you go might be a good idea to check their hours.
We spent time out on our host’s deck to again watch a beautiful sunset overlooking Green Bay. We really enjoyed our short time in Door County. We planned our departure plans for the next day.
Thanks for the beautiful pics!
